Production Schedule of "Speeding Up" Mini / Micro LED Base Cooperated by Leyard and EPISTAR


On the morning of May 12, Huang Qin, Secretary of Wuxi Municipal Party Committee, visited LEADSTAR Micro-Crystal Display Corporation (JiangSu) Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "LEADSTAR") with 
others and investigated the construction of Mini / Micro LED project on the spot. Zhu Aixun (member of the standing committee of Wuxi Municipal Committee and executive deputy mayor of Wuxi 

Municipal Government), Qin Yongxin (Secretary of Liangxi District Committee) and Ma Liang (Secretary of the Economic Development Zone Management Committee) all accompanied during the 


Tan Lianqi, co-founder and vice chairman of Leyard Group and chairman of LEADSTAR, warmly welcomed them, and introduced the construction progress of the project and the business development 

of the company in detail. It is expected to complete the decoration and equipment commissioning of the company's plant by the end of July this year, put Mini LED backlight display and Mini/Micro 

self-illumination display products into trial production in August and then gradually into production. Related businesses are being prepared.

LEADSTAR is located in Liangxi District, Wuxi City. It was jointly invested by Leyard Group and EPISTAR and was registered in Wuxi on March 26, 2020. The joint venture will build the world's first 

industrial base in Wuxi to realize the mass production of minimum Micro LED display products with mass transfer technology. 

After the base is built, it will speed up R & D and production of Mini LED backlight display, mini / micro self-illumination display products which takes flip-chip packaging and mass transfer as the main 

production processes, so as to realize the industrialization of Mini/Micro LED display module and related products.


During the investigation, Secretary Huang Qin praised the rapid progress of the project. He said, "the photoelectric industry is a strategic emerging industry that our city focuses on. Wuxi not only has the foundation of industrial and commercial culture, but also has a solid foundation of microelectronics, integrated circuit semiconductor and other electronic information industries, as well as a first-class business environment. We hope that LEADSTAR will put the best technology and products to Wuxi, and the two sides will cooperate to exploit the international and domestic market. "


The chairman of LEADSTAR Tan Lianqi said that in the future that the production of Mini / Micro led through mass transfer technology would eliminate the link of intermediate packaging, and only close cooperation between upstream chip factories and downstream applications could achieve win-win results. In this context, as the leading enterprise representative of upstream chip manufacturers and downstream application product manufacturers, the association between EPISTAR and Leyard is not only beneficial for both sides to play a synergistic effect in the LED industry chain and seize the first mover advantage, but also can effectively promote cross-strait economic and trade exchanges and industrial integration, accelerate the upgrading of the semiconductor industry chain, and promote the common development of upstream and downstream industry products and related industries.

have not only overcome the adverse impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, but also resumed the work in a safe and orderly manner and sped up the full promotion of the implementation of the project.

According to the latest media reports, Apple Inc. is negotiating with display manufacturers in Taiwan, hoping to introduce micro LED displays into its products as early as next year. Micro LED is more 

efficient than OLED in luminous efficiency and screen lighting and more power-saving, so that the product life and standby time are greatly improved. Thus, it can be predicted that the long-awaited 

Micro LED technology is about to enter the stage of large-scale commercialization, and LEADSTAR is ready.
